Surya Kriya in Sydney

A complete 21-step classical Hatha Yoga practice, taught properly.

Surya Kriya is a 21-step classical Hatha Yoga practice of medium intensity that needs no prior experience and is suitable for anyone aged 14 and over. It is a complete practice, not a warm-up, and is different from Surya Namaskar (the sun salutation). Adiyoga teaches it workshop-style in Earlwood, in the lineage of Sadhguru, so you learn it thoroughly and then practise at home.

What Surya Kriya is

Surya Kriya is a powerful twenty-one step classical practice that brings vitality and balance to the body and mind. It is medium intensity, needs no prior experience, and is suitable for ages fourteen and up.

It is worth being clear that Surya Kriya is not the same as Surya Namaskar. Surya Namaskar, the sun salutation, is a simpler sequence often used as a warm-up. Surya Kriya is a complete, structured practice in its own right.

Who it is for

  • Anyone aged 14 or over, with or without yoga experience
  • People wanting energy, clarity and a stronger, more flexible spine
  • Practitioners looking for an authentic classical practice
  • Those who want a practice they can do at home each day

How it is taught

Surya Kriya is taught as a dedicated program, usually over focused sessions, so you learn all twenty-one steps thoroughly and with correct alignment.

Once you have learned it, the practice is yours to continue at home. People commonly report more energy, mental clarity, and spinal strength and flexibility with regular practice.

Founder & Yoga Teacher

Ramy Zach has been involved in fitness and sport his whole life. He moved from Czechia to Australia at twenty-one, trained as a personal trainer, and has coached clients for close to twenty years.

His path took a deeper turn when he began a committed yoga and meditation practice under Sadhguru. He went on to volunteer for four years at Sadhguru’s ashram in India, where he received his yoga certification in the classical tradition we teach today.

My husband and I recently completed the weekend classical yoga program, Surya Kriya. The teaching was thorough and grounded in authenticity. It is rare to find such integrity with modern day yoga practices. Highly recommend if you are after the original yoga sun invocation. Thanks Ramy.
